Community Sourced Street Light Series Acrylic, metal leaf on paper. 10” x 8” 2020
This image came to me via a friend of a friend. It’s unusual, to me, because most of the public lighting in Southern California is freestanding. But throughout many older parts of the world, lights are often attached to buildings so as to not impede narrow passages.
The bricks in the photo became tangerine to me. In retrospect, that feels apropos. The colors in this painting are stimulating and vacillate between power and joy.
This is an original acrylic and metal leaf painting on paper.
