It’s hard to get my head around this painting because I don’t know where it came from. I have no photo reference of it. But I recall the image. Sort-of. I recall the trees. I recall the high walls. I think it was inspired by a photo sent to me of a neighborhood of lights which were too small to make out.

But ultimately, this place doesn’t exist. I made it up. It’s a delightful and effervescent place to visit. Full of champagne wishes and caviar dreams. 😉
